Blushberry Botanicals was launched by Lorraine Tait in Autumn 2017. Lorraine studied botany and chemistry at Aberdeen University and more recently qualified as a nurse, giving her the knowledge to develop luxury plant-based products which truly care for the skin.
Blushberry Botanical products are vegan and made from organic ingredients where possible.
Blushberry Botanicals is based in the North East of Scotland where the products are made in their workshop. The aim is to keep packaging to a minimum and use recycled and reusable items where possible.
So what’s in it? Blushberry Botanical use a selection of organic base products such as plant oils, nut butter, clays, salts and essential oils. Organic materials are clearly marked in their ingredients list with also a percentage marker of how organic a product is.
Blushberry also does a line of lip balms in fun scents such as Gin & Tonic, Turkish Delights etc… This does mean that they have to use “Aroma” which is not an artificial fragrance but is an unstated fragrance blend.
Ingredients thoughts: I like how as much as they can they make items from Organic ingredients and how everything is transparently written in the ingredients list.
I am not a fan of the products containing “Aroma” but I think you are buying a fun lip balm that is “Pina Colada” scent, for example, you would be aware that this is from an aroma blend rather than a pure essential oils one.
Packaging – Metal Tins, glass jars, foil packets. Mostly plastic free. Recyclable & reusable, Blushberry obviously makes an effort with their packaging to keep it environmentally conscious and it shows.
Awards and accreditations. A small new company, I would not expect for them to have anything…yet!
What I like: The packaging and the products.
What I did not like: The “aroma” in a few lip balms.
In conclusion, A great new brand that we are excited to stock here on Wild Earth Beauty, I look forward to trying all their products out and posting reviews.
