Claire Ermana Natural Skincare Founder

Ermana Natural Skincare*

Claire created Ermana due to her own problems with sensitive skin.

Ermana products use high quality natural and organic ingredients using the best of what Mother Nature has to offer. The range includes face oils for both men and women, body oils, lotions, washes and balms and also cater for expectant mums with our Soothe Mama oil and balm.

Ermana uses UK based suppliers for all their ingredients, packaging, bottles and jars as they believe in the growth and promotion of local businesses.

So what’s in it? All Ermana products are 100% natural and free from sulphates, parabens, artificial colours and fragrances.

Some of their product bases are organic, such as Shea, Cocoa and Coconut butters which make up the largest percentage of the product. The oil bases or essential oils are natural but do not appear to be organic.

Ermana is currently working toward Soil Association accreditation.

All the face and body oils are Vegan however the balms contain some beeswax so cannot be classed as Vegan.

Ingredients thoughts: Disappointingly the balms contain beeswax, the face oils do not appear to contain any organic oils and the body wash contains CAPB.

I don’t think beeswax is a necessary ingredient as other plant waxes are just as good and do not have the animal cruelty implication that beeswax does. I also think it would be great if they sourced more organic oils, especially as Ermana get as many as the ingredients as they can from UK suppliers it would support UK organic farmers.

CAPB, also not a fan of this ingredients, see blog, if other players such as Odylique can make a body wash without so can Ermana

Packaging – glass bottles and jars with plastic pumps or lids. Recently changed their bottles from plastic to glass!

Awards and accreditations – Working towards Soil Association Accreditation. Product awards by The Green Parent & Janey Loves.

What I like: The products are 100% natural and have some really great ingredient blends. The fact they recently changed from plastic bottles to a glass.

What I did not like: The lack of organic ingredients, the use of beeswax, and the use of CAPB. Plastic single-use packaging lids.

Where to buy? Lovelula
