Pinks Boutique make 3 Deep Cleansing melts, one for ageing skin, one for dehydrated skin and one for oily/combination skin. They are all multi-award winning. So I was excited that I was going to be in for a treat, whichever one I chose.
It was hard to decide which one to try as truly my skin is a hodgepodge of everything, but I chose the deep cleansing one as this is to be my night time cleanser, so I wanted a deep clean that would then be followed with a hydrating serum.
The Blurb: A balancing cleansing balm with the astringency of organic Lemongrass and restorative Mandarin, anti- oxidants & natural vitamin E promote cell rejuvenation aimed at oily skin Visibly softens and conditions the skin, never leaving it feeling tight and dry. A fabulous replacement to conventional cleansers that can strip the skin of its natural oil, forcing it to overdrive and produce more sebum causing the skin to become imbalanced and problematic. Ingredients thoughts: All good. Lovely to see so many organic ingredients. In total there are 9 organic ingredients. Which is all the active ingredients. All the non-organic ingredients are the derived ingredients which are used to thicken, combine and stabilize. Waiting to hear whether the Shea Butter is fairtrade and if the Corn Starch is non GMO.
Packaging – A heavy glass jar which I have dropped and it was fine! Together with a plastic lid. Due to the weight of the glass it does feel luxurious and quality. I would prefer it if they used a black metal lid, but these are fairly new to the market, with The Deodorant Co. only just sourcing them this year, so hopefully that change is on the horizon?

My Review: I have combination skin, with a bit of everything. Prone to dryness, redness and acne it is hard to please. I used this cleanser as deep cleanse at night time and used it like a mask in the bath. I loved the scent, it felt uplifting and spa like. A real treat which is what I want from my skincare when I spend this much money and I am in the bath. Bathtime is my “me time” so I like a product that makes me feel pampered and spoiled and this definately ticks those boxes.
My skin felt smooth, supple and soft after use and I amost felt I could get away with not using a facial oil afterwards. I felt it did deep cleanse and breakouts were calm and controlled.
I will use again and plan on purchasing the Hydrating Deep Cleanse melt for the winter months, as my skin suffer’s at the change of seasons, when the central heating goes on and it gets blustery outside.
The jar lasted me 3 months and I used it fairly liberally.
What I like: Loved the product, would use again. Impressed with the organic ingredients and the lack of other unpronounceable filler ingredients. Liked the glass jar.
What I did not like: Plastic lid.
*This cleasnng melt was paid for by myself and as always I have written an honest review.
